The short version

Jorge Romero Romanis is a full-stack software engineer based in México (React, TypeScript, Next.js). He builds for millions, then goes and builds something fun.

  • Technical co-lead of PayPal Fastlane’s profile-management portal, from empty repo to production, then scaled to 1.5M users across 7 countries.
  • Drove front-end UX on Microsoft Bing’s 0-to-1 Image Inspiration Feed, where daily active users grew 400% over 9 months.
  • Builds and runs two SaaS products solo (MyAlbumLink and LabWiseLink), billing, auth and the boring parts included.
  • Also does photography, drone video and 360° tours for real clients, and has 25 browser tools on this site.

Eleven landmarks

Every stop on the board, in one scroll.

  1. Software engineering

Built for millions, then something fun.

Jorge was technical co-lead of PayPal Fastlane’s profile-management portal, from an empty repo to 1.5M users across 7 countries. At Microsoft he drove front-end UX on Bing’s Image Inspiration Feed, where daily active users grew 400% in 9 months.

  2. Drone videography

The view from a hundred metres up.

Jorge shoots aerial video with a drone, for real clients and for himself. His reel includes Día de Muertos celebrations seen from above and aerial footage of houses, next to travel videos from the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and the Alhambra in Granada.

  3. Tottenham Hotspur

A Spurs fan in México, for his sins.

Jorge supports Tottenham Hotspur from México, “for my sins”, in his own words. There’s a whole route on this site about it, and it’s the start of a small treasure hunt.

  4. Board games

    One more round?

Jorge loves board games (Downforce, Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game, Fire Tower and Hellapagos are his favourites), so this page is one. He also builds small games for the browser: a wheel of fortune and a jigsaw puzzle live in his tools.

  5. Craft beer

    Small batches, big opinions.

Jorge picked up a taste for craft beer while living in Seattle, a city full of breweries. Back in Mexico he kept exploring, and he hasn’t stopped.

  6. artoverlay.com

    Trace anything onto anything.

Jorge built artoverlay.com, a free browser tool that overlays a reference image on your phone’s camera so you can trace designs onto real surfaces: murals, stencils, cakes, embroidery. It corrects perspective, removes backgrounds and processes everything locally.

  7. e.marts

Your first real painting, step by step.

e.marts runs guided painting workshops and private events in Cuernavaca, Metepec and CDMX, where first-timers finish a real painting step by step on a pre-sketched design. It’s Jorge’s wife Eli’s business, and he designed and built the site, which sells the workshops and events and hands the booking to WhatsApp.

  8. Kitchen

    Something’s always on the stove.

Jorge is just getting started in the kitchen, and he’s enjoying every bit of it: Mexican classics on one side, Asian comfort food on the other.
